    Deep, unadulterated sleep (a solid 7–9 hours) is essential for repairing your nervous system. Is it easier to sleep with a regulated nervous system? Yes, so riddle us that. We digress. Sleep reduces stress hormones, supports brain function, and allows your body to recover from daily stress. There’s enough happening in your world and the literal world, and sleep is a must.

  2. Practice Deep Breathing
    Do not feel silly. This is a small practice that you can do in public, promise. Deep breathing exercises activate the parasympathetic nervous system, signaling your body to relax. Regular practice reduces anxiety and helps your body manage stress. This is especially effective in the evening, just before bedtime.

  3. Move Your Body Daily
    Get on up! Moderate movement, such as walking, yoga, or dancing, releases endorphins, lowers cortisol levels, and improves nervous system regulation. Helpful tip when you feel unmotivated: remember the feeling of those endorphins kicking in and let that be the spark that gets you moving.

  4. Focus on a Nutrient-Rich Diet
    Eating a balanced diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals supports brain health and promotes nervous system recovery. As Americans, we consume massive amounts of processed, unhealthy foods (guilty!) that are filled with preservatives, chemicals, and additives. A health nervous system hates to see them coming.

  5. Use Weighted Blankets
