Who We Are

ADULTS LIVING ALCOHOL FREE IN THE GREATER CHICAGO AREA

Chicago AF is a large, diverse, and vibrant community of individuals living alcohol free in downtown Chicago, the surrounding suburbs, and our neighboring states. Some of us identify as sober, some as sober curious, some as alcohol free, others with no labels whatsoever. We are professionals, students, stay-at-home parents, and more. Our community is composed of individuals at various life stages, all with the common goal of living life to its fullest without alcohol.

We are unique in that we are a free community (no membership fees) and completely volunteer-based. From our founder to everyone who hosts a meeting, casual meet-up, or event, we all share a willingness to volunteer our time and effort to grow Chicago AF for others.

We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We exist solely to directly improve the experience of living alcohol-free and socializing in the Greater Chicago area.

what we offer

CONNECTION, SUPPORT, community events, & MORE

Chicago AF provides an IRL way to connect with others living alcohol-free in the Greater Chicago area. Our founder specifically started Chicago AF to meet other sober individuals, as she found it difficult to find others outside of 12-step rooms.

One of the main ways we provide connection is by regularly hosting a variety of events each month. These events are intentionally diversified to appeal to a wide range of ages. We host casual meet-ups, such as coffee and book clubs, nature walks, and brunches, as well as larger-scale events (NA Day, No Booze Cruise, Cubs games).

In addition to events, we offer free sobriety support through weekly Zoom meetings and private chats, so people can check in with others anytime.
